CISD Family Survey:

CISD is currently surveying our families in order to gain insight into your perception of our schools and district effectiveness. This survey shouldn’t take more than a few minutes to complete and will be a valuable source of information for us, as we work to make our schools and our district the best that they can be. You may complete the survey online between now and Nov. 4, using a computer, tablet or smartphone. To take the survey, please visit https://surveys.panoramaed.com, then select your child(ren)’s school. If you have multiple children in CISD, we ask that you take the survey for each school your child attends.

Science:

Discussions At Home:
Don't forget to practice your sight words and spelling words at home each week.

With our new social studies unit, LONG AGO and TODAY, this would be a great time to talk about how things were different in school when you were a child in first grade.  It's amazing how things have changed!

What are nouns and verbs in a sentence?

Practice counting to 120 by 5s and 10s.

Encourage your child to  use different strategies to show two ways they can solve 9 + 8.  Have your child share answers and discuss all the strategies.

In Other News:

Today your child is bringing home a Town Center Elementary School-Parent Compact.  It needs to be signed by both student and parent and returned to school.  Thank you!!!

Thank you to everyone who has returned their signed report card.  If you haven't sent it back, please try to send them back next week.  thank you!

We will NOT be dressing up for Halloween.  Please do not send your child to school in a costume on that day.  Thank you!!

Mark you calendars for November 7th from 5-7.  All TCE  families are invited to spend some time with us as the Ross Perot Museum comes to TCE for some STEM fun!

Library:  Please don't forget to bring back your library books each week.   New books can only be checked out once the old books have been returned.
All first grade classes will be attending the library on Mondays beginning next week.  ALL library books are due back to your homeroom on Monday.  New books will not be able to be checked out until the previous week's books are returned.
