Science:

Learners will discuss how weather changes with the seasons.  We will be tracking the weather and compare to other areas around the world.

Discussions At Home:
Please continue to discuss the importance of skip counting.  We use skip counting for basic tasks such as telling the time or dealing with money.  Activities such as sports, shopping or even counting large quantities are made easier by acquiring the ability to skip count.  Practice skip counting at home with your child.  Give your child pennies and have them skip count the value.  It is so much fun and it will benefit your child.

Take a walk around the neighborhood, in the park, or at a local botanical garden.  Ask your child to observe and describe the weather, temperature, and the changes they see in the trees, plants, and wildlife for the season and weather.

Listen to a sentence and find which word is the noun and which word is the verb.  Can you make the sentence better by adding an adjective?

Don't forget to read to your child every night.  There are so many great benefits to reading to your child!!!!
  • builds vocabulary
  • helps with fluency
  • promotes communication
  • teaches inflection in voice
  • increases reading level
  • increases imagination in children
  • builds academia in subject matter
  • and many more!!!!
